Contest is on nowEvery month, the bands in the group go head to head, and the members pick the winner. It starts with photos: members vote on the bands’ photos first, and the live videos come after. The winning band gets the spotlight on this page for the whole month. Here is how it works.

Post your photo first
It starts with photos. A band drops their best band picture, not a flyer, in the comments on the contest post in the Facebook group. That picture is the band’s entry, and it goes up before any videos.

Members vote on the photos
Voting starts with the photos, and it lives on Facebook. Members vote with their reactions on the band’s picture in the contest post’s comments.

Then the live videos
After the photo voting, bands post a video of themselves playing a full song live in the Facebook group. It has to be a real live performance of the whole song. No promo clips, no slideshows, no studio tracks.

Winner gets the spotlight
The winning band is spotlighted right here on this page for the whole month, and their name goes up on the Winners Wall for good.

America’s Bands is a public Facebook group for live videos of American working bands, run by Datguy Dan. Bars, clubs, festivals and stages all across the country. Bands post live videos of full songs played in front of real people. Flyers and promos do not belong here. Just the real thing, played live.
